This event occurred on: Thursday, 14 February 2013, 6 p.m.
Quad204 is part of one of the biggest current investments in the North Sea and involves replacement of sub-sea infrastructure, drilling of new wells and replacement of the FPSO – to extend the life of the Schiehallion and Loyal fields. The talk describes the project scope and the preparation for the vessel disconnect in 2013.
Hugh Rees is a Mechanical Engineering graduate with 30 years service in the oil and gas sector. He is a former logging engineer and director of his own company specialising in software development and log analysis. The last 15 years have been spent as a Petroleum Engineer mainly working in North Sea production operations from start-ups (Clair) to shut-downs (Miller). Mature field management has been a recurring theme but Hugh has also specialised in research and development with real-time data processing and holds a patent for process automation. Hugh works currently as the Petroleum Engineer for one of the biggest projects, and investments, in the North Sea: Quad204 (The redevelopment of a sub-sea brownfield site).
